Talking to the Sun at Fire Island, Volume 1

Since 2012, BOFFO has made Fire Island it’s summer home. With an artist residency and performance festival, BOFFO has lead a strategic effort to enhance this historic LGBTQ community through the arts. Having supported over 200 artists on Fire Island in the past 8 years, BOFFO is excited to start sharing this work in the form of an annual art journal. Talking to the Sun at Fire Island is a 150 page high quality print publication that tells a story of contemporary art on Fire Island through the eyes of BOFFO. A dream-scape of images, drawings, interviews, and more, Talking to the Sun at Fire Island isn’t meant to be comprehensive or complete, literal or objective, it’s meant to be a journey through our version of this queer landscape.  The first publication of our journal focuses on the single summer of 2018 with contributions by BOFFO artists from our residency and festival, over 30 artists whose work impacts contemporary creative practice and thought throughout the world.
